Much Goofy Chatting Re: Cats and Bears and Chocolate
Hi all!
I spent the weekend traveling to faraway places for a fantabulous wedding (yay wedding! YAWN AIRPLANES!), which is why Sunshine’s blog didn’t go up yesterday. (She has many superpowers, including barking at invisible people, but typing up her own blog isn’t one of them…yet!). So I’m hoping to post that on Friday instead!
And it’s also why this blog is short-short-short this week, BUT I am leaving you with something VERY LONG to read, if you have a few hours and feel so inclined: 🙂
The Erin Hunter Wands and Worlds Chat!
About a month ago, as you might remember, Vicky, Cherith, Kate, and I all participated in an author chat on the thoroughly awesome Wands and Worlds website. That link will take you to the entire (well, edited) transcript — broken down into pre-chat, chat, and post-chat sections. I think it’s a fun read because everyone is so hilarious, and you should certainly at least skim it for Vicky’s answers if you’re a Warriors fan, because she reveals all kinds of exciting things (for once!). 🙂
It’s also funny because during the chat I feel like I’m typing so fast, and yet now, reading it, it looks like I’m really far behind on everything and hardly say anything at all! (Plus I CANNOT BELIEVE I had such random capitalization issues going on. Really? I must have been more tired than I realized!) Also, I feel like a few comments might have vanished into the ether, because occasionally it looks like I’m responding to voices in my head or something. ;-) But hopefully you all can figure out what I’m talking about!
The entire chat goes EXTRA SUPER fast and there are so many questions…I wish I’d had time to answer more of them. I’d have loved to talk more to the chatters who say they want to be writers, for instance — like about what you like to write and my advice about publishing and all of that. But I wish you all OODLES of luck, anyway!
Plus I could spend all day finding out what kinds of dogs you have and listening to your stories about them! Hopefully we’ll get a chance to do some of that on the Pet Trouble message boards next month (hosted by Scholastic…more info soon!).
And thank you again to all the people who said lovely things about Jeopardy! It’s so cool to see worlds collide like that — Warriors fans and Jeopardy watchers! Yay!
OK, I’d really better go to bed if I’m going to do anything coherent this week (such as, for instance, say useful critique-y things at my writing group meeting tomorrow!). Longer blog next week, I’m sure! After my BIRTHDAY YAY! (Yeah, what can I say, I like birthdays! I’m one of THOSE!)
Quote of the Day: "I’m not that girl — the girl who’s turned on by this bad boy crap. I’m not skipping home to scribble in my journal that maybe you’re a vampire."
— Kat, 10 Things I Hate About You (the TV show, which couldn’t possibly be as awesome as the movie, but, um…I kind of really like it anyway!)
